News of CORLA’s recent launch published in The Times

April 28, 2022 by CORLA

The Times has today published a feature reporting the recent launch of CORLA, and our aim to establish effective mechanisms for collective redress.

This article was published in The Times, 28 April 2022, here.

Commenting in The Times’ article, David Greene, co-president of CORLA and senior partner at Edwin Coe, said:

“There is a distinct lack of certainty about the process for group litigation in the UK with much depending on individual decisions of judges.”

In light of the rise in collective redress and group litigation, Guy Robson, CORLA vice president and partner at Keller Lenkner UK, said:

“Since group litigation — and other forms of collective redress — has only really taken off recently in the UK, the procedural and practical framework has yet to catch up.”

Natasha Pearman, CORLA’s treasurer and a partner at Milberg, notes that the Supreme Court ruled in Lloyd v Google that “a detailed legislative framework would be preferable”.
