Chaya Hanoomanjee

Chaya is a founding Partner and Head of the Collective Actions practice at Gateley Legal.

She previously led the collective actions practice at Slater & Gordon, where she managed all aspects of the practice and had overall supervision of cases. She has extensive experience of complex, large-scale litigation on both claimant and defendant side. She previously worked for Augusta Ventures, a litigation funder, and had responsibility for assessing funding requests from law firms and presenting viable cases to the Investment Committee.

Her experience outside of collective actions includes litigation and regulatory investigations on behalf of financial institutions. She established and led the international in-house litigation and investigations function at a financial institution.
